Do Something Great

determined Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. – 1 John 4:4

In the movie John Q, there was a time when the wife told her husband “Do something John, do something”. They had put forth good efforts while trying to help save their son’s life but it got to the point where the wife realized that their efforts were not good enough so she told her husband to “Do Something”. That kick in the pants caused him to spring into action, making him able to do more than he had been doing to help the situation. His extra efforts brought the necessary attention and more assistance to help the situation. By doing something, he helped to save his son’s life.

All of us have been in situations where we had to accomplish certain tasks but our efforts seem like they are not enough. We feel like we have done enough but we know we can do more but something holds us back from doing more. There are spiritual forces that are also working against us as seen in Ephesians 6:12 but we can’t allow this to stop us. It doesn’t always have to be another flesh possessed with an evil spirit working against us but the spiritual force can work against our own flesh to try to stop us from progressing. Many of us know of these forces of darkness but we do not allow that knowledge nor the enemy to stop us from progressing.

For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control. – 2 Timothy 1:7

We can do more than what we think we can but many of us have placed limits upon ourselves and some are always blaming the devil. We limit ourselves and others in many situations but we can reach out to God to help unlock the strength and or power needed to overcome any obstacle. All of God’s children have the ability to call upon Him but many of them have become complacent or simply forgot that God is just a prayer away. We do not have to worry about the devil or any other entity stopping us from progressing when we have God with and in us.

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? – Romans 8:31

In the Ultimate Fighting Championships (UFC) the Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighters tap out when they succumb to defeat. This happens after the fight has started and particular fighters have encountered major pain that is unbearable which causes them to tap out. Many people have started this year by tapping out instead of doing something more than what they did last year. Many people have started this year in pity parties (tapping out) instead of tapping into God and doing something about their situation. We have to start the year off tapping into God instead of tapping out to the world. All we have to do is tag team with God so that we can win all of our battles.

I can do all things through Him who strengthens me. – Philippians 4:13

Our relationship with God empowers us to overcome and accomplish anything. You can’t spell winner without inner and our inner is God since we have Him within us. Since God is within us, we have to do something great for Him and His Son. Since God is within us, we have to do something great with our lives. Since God is within us, we have to do something great for our families. Since God is within us, we can do something great for our neighbors. Since God is within us, we have to do more than what we normally do. Since God is within us, we have to do something that is greater than what we did last year. Since God is within us, we have to do something that will assist others in getting out of the darkness. Since God is within us, we have to do something pleasing in His sight. Since God is within us, we have to do something that will help heal others. Since God is within us, we have to do something that will help those that are blind.

joy Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. – John 14:12

Throughout our days, we must remember that we are not the only fellow in the ship. We have to tag team (fellowship) with other children of God to do something great for the kingdom. We have to do something on a different level than what we see worldly people doing. We have to reach deeper within ourselves and tap in to the power of Greatness. God created us in His image to do things that are extraordinary not ordinary. If you are in need of a divine boost please call on Christ Jesus and watch God do something amazing. Let’s maximize the power of God to keep doing things that are amazing now and forever in Christ Jesus name. Amen
