Angels, Demons & You

angels_demons Spiritual Warfare is real! It is as real as the oxygen we breath. We can’t see air unless atmospheric conditions are idea but we can feel it. We can’t see the spirituality of spiritual warfare unless God allows us to see it but we can feel it. Spiritual warfare is also as real as gravity. Gravity is the force that pulls our bodies toward the center of the earth but we can’t see it. Spiritual warfare is an activity spearheaded by Satan to try to pull us toward his pit. It is not visible to naked eye but it affects our bodies and souls.

Spiritual warfare involves God, Christ Jesus, and Satan, demons, angels and us. We have not seen God, Christ Jesus, or Satan and most of us haven’t seen an angel or a demon but we believe they exist. Some believe that we encounter angels and demons in the form of humans in our daily lives. Many others believe that angels and demons are a mindset and or a way of life but that’s because they do not know God and Christ Jesus. Angels and demons are as real as air and gravity. Both have missions to pull us away from something and to draw us toward something else.

Angels and demons coexistence is undeniable because there is no way you can believe that angels exist while believing that demons don’t exist. This is because what we call demons are actually fallen angels. Angels and demons are as real as we are but we can’t see them with the naked eye unless God allows us to see them. Angels are led by God and demons are led by Satan. Revelations 12:7-9 helps us to understand this fact, “Now war arose in heaven, Michael and his angels fighting against the dragon. And the dragon and his angels fought back, but he was defeated, and there was no longer any place for them in heaven. And the great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him”. Are these the same entities that are mentioned in Genesis 6, “The sons of God saw that the daughters of man were attractive. And they took as their wives any they chose. Then the Lord said, “My Spirit shall not abide in man forever, for he is flesh: his days shall be 120 years.” The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of man and they bore children to them. These were the mighty men who were of old, the men of renown” ? Many scholars and theologians differ on their opinions of Revelations 12:7-9 and Genesis 6:1-7 being connected but no one can deny that the fallen angels were sent to earth. We also can’t deny that their leader was roaming the earth too. Their leader Satan can be seen roaming the earth in Job1:6-7 as well as angels also being called sons of God in this scripture, “Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord , and Satan also came among them. The Lord said to Satan, “From where have you come?” Satan answered the Lord and said, “From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking up and down on it.” There is simply no denying the fact of the origin of demons and their purpose just like there is no denying the origin and purpose of angels.

angels and demons With knowledge of demons, you would think we would collectively forge greater efforts in spiritual warfare but collectively we are not. We can’t remain collectively passive about the purpose of demons and our souls. Their purpose is to destroy us and keep us from Paradise. This is why we need the covering of Christ Jesus. We need to maintain a relationship with Christ Jesus and call upon Him to win our spiritual battles against these demons. We can’t physically fight demons nor can we rely on other humans to fight demons for us but many of us can call on the name Jesus to defeat them. Not every human is clean or equipped to call upon the Lord’s power to assist a fellow saint in spiritual warfare as seen in Acts 19:15-16, “But the evil spirit answered them, “Jesus I know, and Paul I recognize, but who are you?” And the man in whom was the evil spirit leaped on them, mastered all of them and overpowered them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded”. Demons can take over a human’s body and Satan can disguise himself as an angel, “No wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light”, as seen in 2 Corinthians 11:14 but the power of God will allow us to discern between good and evil.

We have to remain as clean as possible because there are so many lost souls and believers who have strayed away from the faith. We will have to intercede for them like Abraham did for his nephew Lot in Genesis 18 – 19. Sometimes angels are sent to help us but if we do not have a relationship with God then we will not be able to recognize who they are. Angels are sent to help us as mentioned by Christ Jesus in Matthew 18:10-11, See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that in heaven their angels always see the face of my Father who is in heaven”. Angels are warriors, messengers, healers and sons of God purposed for the good of the kingdom. Their works can be found in assisting many of God’s people like Daniel (Daniel 10), Zechariah (Luke 1), Joseph (Matthew 1), Mary (Luke 1) and many others but one of their most important acts was when they came to assist Christ Jesus in Matthew 4:11, “Then the devil left him, and behold, angels came and were ministering to him”. God sent the angels to recharge His Son and He can send them to assist us in the same manner after we have endured a battle during spiritual warfare.

spiritual warfare One of the reasons why we collectively lose in spiritual warfare is because we are focused on the flesh instead of the spirits that influence the flesh as highlighted in Ephesians 6:12. “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places”. If we would pause sometimes instead of tagging the flesh we would be able to recognize the identity theft being commented by demons.

May everyone remember that Christ Jesus can send angels to our rescue if we call upon Him as seen in Matthew 26:53, “Do you think that I cannot appeal to my Father, and he will at once send me more than twelve legions of angels?” This is just one more reason to maintain a relationship with Christ Jesus! We need His angels every day because Satan and his demons never take a day off during spiritual warfare. As sure as you can read these words, Satan and his demons can read you too. Let’s show them every day that we believe in the Almighty God, Christ Jesus and His angels which is why we will remain eternally victorious now and forever. Blessings
